Anne's Trip to Florida

Anne did a quick jaunt to Tampa in January to see Carol.

Carol picked up Anne at the airport late Thursday evening. Friday morning we were enjoying a bit of breakfast when Carol wonders if I might like to have my hair done by Kelsey if she has an available appointment. The only open time was at 10am that day. When I confessed to never having had my hair done at a salon, Kelsey decreed that I had no choice - she insisted I should come be pampered.

So off we went to The Wexford House, the salon at which Kelsey works.

The ambience was very comfortable and reminded me of an Albuquerque vibe, for some reason.

The finished result - no barettes! I had to text a pic to Glen.

Carol and I had lunch at the American Social, a new place on Harbour Island. Salmon burgers and sweet potato fries - yum.

After lunch, we checked out the waterfront, a bit of Tampa Bay near the convention center.

Looks like a fun mode of transportation.

One of the bald cypress trees Rog had planted - they look like close relatives of the dawn redwood, and are also deciduous conifers.

We enjoyed seeing Carol's mom, Lela Long, at her retirement community before continuing on to Dunedin to have dinner with Jerry.

Time to head for the airport, early Monday morning.
