Thursday we were back at the villa for the official Thanksgiving feast.
Mother's china. It was purchased for her by her mother, from some of
Grandmother Norford's own earnings at Lansburg's Department Store in DC.
Grandmother Norford had gone to work there after her kids left home, over the
objection of her husband, and really enjoyed that independence and the ability
to buy special things.

She had asked the day before if we'd brought any along, and was disappointed to be
