Approaching the
bridge, we were surprised to see a building up on supports. It's an old building
recently acquired by the CVNP. They plan to make it over into a visitor center.
We parked and walked back to the bridge to get a better look. This
spot for putting kayaks in or out of the river also caught our eye.
They've removed the foundation - no idea if they will simply make a new one in the same
spot, or move the building a bit away from the river.
The sign advertising the CVNP plans for the building.
Next surprise, the towpath was temporarily closed due to an access path bridge
being out.
We hiked around anyway (after noting several other people succeeding) and
now we could see that the bridge was truly missing.
