Flash Flood Damage

Part 2

Wednesday morning, we saw yet another example of how powerful flash floods can be. We went to an urgent care clinic (building in background) to get Margie's ears checked out. Kitty and I walked around while waiting. We knew there were closed roads since we'd had to take a circuitous route to get to the clinic.

The clinic and parking lot look entirely normal and open for business.

But across the road, the Burger King and Taco Bell are closed and workers were putting up barriers to keep people/cars out of danger.

The tall Taco Bell sign had toppled into the suddenly wider ravine.

and now for a view from the other side of that ravine. We had to go around to pick up Margie's new prescription at the Walgreen's, also fortunately open.

The creek looks so innocent!
