Kitty added some realism to the moose lamp.
The next morning (Tuesday) we saw a boat heading out and a seaplane probably
heading back to Houghton.
The lodge had canoes available in Tobin Harbor for guests,
so we took one out Tuesday morning.
And then we saw the moose.
They just stood and posed for us, turning their heads as if to say 'how do you like
this side? or maybe this angle?'
To put the cherry on top, just a few hundred feet away were
a cow and two calves.
Unfortunately, we spooked the mama and she hustled her calves into the brush.
heading back towards the dock, we caught a glimpse of a fast-moving animal
that was probably an otter.
back to the dock.

waiting for our plane back to Houghton that afternoon.

Kitty rode up front this time. It turns out that the plane we had on the first
flight was the 'large' one with 8 seats. This one only had 4 seats!
One of the ferries. The fast one goes from Copper Harbor at the tip of the
Keweenaw Peninsula and takes 3 hours, one way. The big one goes from
Houghton and takes 6 hours one way. Lake Superior is really large.
