Sarah, Chris, Nayla, and Olivia visit Ohio

The Leons arrived very early on Thursday, July 11th. Jen brought Sammy and Gianna over Thursday evening and we all had homemade pizza. Friday we went to Cedar Point. Saturday we did some sight-seeing in Cleveland. Sunday afternoon extended family arrived and we had an 18-person gathering. Monday was more visiting and playing. They flew home Tuesday evening, July 16th.

They're here!

Actually, this is what really happened when they arrived. They'd taken a night flight, hoping the girls would sleep, but they didn't, plus the flight was diverted briefly to Detroit while waiting for a storm to pass through the Cleveland area.

Nayla had amazing energy reserves, so Grandma and Grandpa explored down the hill with her while the rest of the family rested. Grandpa is showing Nayla a rock with fossil markings.

Sarah brought Hatchimals along.

These change color in water.

Jen had offered to bring extra kids over to visit, so we took her up on that. We made pizza and enjoyed watching the little cousins get to know each other.

Sarah spotted these exciting bubble wand/machines at Cedar Point.

rearranging the magnetic stones on the fridge.

Hot wheels, always a winner. Especially when Daddy attaches your little animals to the cars with rubber bands.

Carol, Kelsey, and Sam are here! Followed shortly by Beth & John, Laurie & Rudy, and Jen, Joe, Gianna, and Sammy.

Nayla loved her puzzle from Aunt Carol.

It was a few days early, but since we had two of them here in person, Beth brought a cake to celebrate the triplets' birthday, and we got to sing and enjoy dessert.

Sarah challenged Sam to a head-stand competition.

The conclusion is murky because when Sarah challenged Sam to go down and back up, Sam just heard the down part and quit.

Olivia has one!

After Nayla did her new puzzle half a dozen times, it was time for Grandpa to find another one in the basement.

Glen, with help from Beth, worked on putting up a tarp for shade on the deck.

Voila! Shade.

Kelsey kindly agreed to cut hair.

Gianna and Nayla are searching for nuts in the woods.

Success! lots of pignut hickory nuts.

Nayla is ready for her very first haircut.

Kelsey even offered to trim my hair!

After all the haircuts, we went down to the creek to explore.

Yum!

The girls probably ate at least a pint.

Sharing with 'Uncle' Sam.

Easy dinner: frozen lasagne and bagged salad.

Ice cream cones for dessert, as long as you were willing to pose for a picture for the math book to illustrate the concept of single, double, triple scoops.

Alan suggested chocolate waffles for breakfast.

a popular choice.

Also at Alan's suggestion: lunch at Culver's, a new-to-our-area fast food place. It's very popular in Wisconsin, and one of Alan's friends there recommended it.

Time to head out.

Sam went with them to the airport (her flight was later that evening), and they stopped on the way at Woodvale Cemetery.

There was communing with Uncle Roger and GreatGrandma & GreatGrandpa Cooper.

The flight back luckily went better than the one out, despite apparently having to go east and north around an incoming storm before flying west.
