NJ in January

Anne, Glen, Roger, and Alan went to NJ at the end of January to help celebrate Lily's first birthday.

1 month vs 1 year -- what a difference! Lily is now over 16 pounds.

Jenny put up pictures from the year.

A 'cake' made of flowers from the cousins who own a florist shop.

Lily is intriqued, at least momentarily, by the flower cake.

The spread, ready for grazing during the open-house-style birthday party.

Buzz indicates the caffeinated choice.

Lauren and Becca came. Shelly of course. Uncle John is next to Grandpa.

Jane and Jenny.

What are these trouble-makers plotting? Justin, Jamie, and Roger.

Chris and Kevin

Lily decided to climb into her Duplos storage box. Seryun and Grandma were teaching her how to open it.

The plotters are discovered playing Fluxx!

Aunt Beth enjoyed some floortime with Lily.

The cars Aunt Beth & Uncle John brought were a bit hit.

Seryun gets to hold Lily. Amazingly, Lily survived on just a tiny morning nap, and was awake and cheerful for her entire party!

Grandma wore her solar-system necklace (made by Aunt Lisa), and Lily liked it a lot.

The next day was relatively nice for January, so we took a walk.

A pause for a photo op by the closest lake in their community.

Our nominal destination was closed, probably due to ice hazards on the equipment.

Nice sky

Lily got to walk for a while.

We circled the fields.

and made it all the way to the Rockaway River.

This evening Jenny and David let Lily enjoy her chocolate cake.

Jenny and Anne also made an apple pie to celebrate Alan's imminent birthday.

The road home on Monday.

Interesting cargo being driven along I-80.

We saw two of these. They're wind turbine blades.
