It was a lovely drive down to Amish country near Massillon.
The apples are outside, and we succeeded in buying around 80 lbs of
Northern Spy apples, plus a few Rosalies for eating fresh. The Northern Spy apples
are our current favorite for baking and applesauce.
Anne canned a lot of apple slices this year for use in pies and crisps.
The disturbing thing this year, though, was the lack of mask-wearing on the
part of the Amish proprietors. Customers were wearing them, but not the
workers. Fortunately, we were mostly outside. We had to pay inside, but
did that as quickly as possible.
Lots of fall color on the drive.
We saw this sign on the drive home.
Ohio has been doing a good job with public messaging.
