East Harbor & Port Clinton, August 22nd

This was the farthest we'd venture since February. We wanted a batch of Red Haven Peaches from Bergman's for canning, so we drove to Port Clinton. We were successful in getting the peaches, and then went to East Harbor and enjoyed eating a couple of them, plus some special peach bread, for a picnic lunch.

This is the south end of East Harbor and was much less crowded than the swimming section.

We found an unoccupied picnic table at one of the sites of the old bathhouses, and sat down to watch the boats and the water.

Lots of variety: a dredge, a Lake Erie freighter, large sailboat, speedy towboat

Out of curiousity, we drove around the parking area for the swimming side: pretty crowded.

We stopped at a picnic spot not far from the park exit. This map may be handy in future.

Nice tree - no other special meaning.

View of wetlands and then the lake as we drove into Port Clinton.

We didn't stop, but observed that Port Clinton had converted Main Street to socially-distanced outdoor dining.
