Glen shows off his first set of Fruit-of-the-Month birthday gift from Lisa.
Now that we're learning that outdoors is safer than indoors, Covid19-wise, Laurie
and Rudy came over for a couple hours, bringing their own beverages and chairs, and
staying at least 6 feet away. Nice to visit in person!
Lisa and Robyn model their masks while hiking.
Wendy got to visit briefly with Mother.
Margie sent me this pic from the Cherry Hut. She and Kitty were checking out
roots in Michigan.
Pileated Woodpecker in our yard.
We have resident bunnies now. Guess the coyotes aren't as active in the vicinity.
Some of the rhubarb, with raspberry patch behind.
A late freeze caught most of the fruit tree blossoms, so we had just one apricot
on the Tomcot tree.
Glen is working on a second log bench.
We made an attempt to see the NEOWISE Comet. Alan found it with his binoculars
in the early morning sky.
Glen got out the big lens, but wasn't able to isolate the comet with it.
However, he was successful in getting some interesting pictures of Jupiter and
4 of its moons.
The one lonely pluot was prematurely picked by the birds or a squirrel.
Raspberries, though, did quite well this year.
One of the trees on the hill lost a couple big branches in a windstorm.
Since it will be months before we're comfortable going to a restaurant, we
decided to treat ourselves to filet mignon and homemade french fries.

Covid-19 cases reported in Cuyahoga County as of 8-27-2020. Our zip code, 44141,
is relatively lightly affected so far.
Glen is working on another log bench.
He is coating it with epoxy resin.
For the second layer of epoxy, he put up the screen tent and fogged the area
to keep bugs from being embedded in the epoxy.
A socially-distanced pizza dinner with Laurie & Rudy. Glen set up a fan to blow air
between us, too.
Glen and Anne ventured out to Port Clinton to acquire Red Haven peaches
at Bergman's for canning.
We ended up with 34 quarts of peaches, minus one that broke in the canning bath.

Rhubarb finishing its season.

Tempest weather station by WeatherFlow.
After the old weather station failed,
we missed having our own rainfall readings. Glen picked this one, a brand new
type that detects rainfall by the force of the drops hitting it instead of
collecting the water. It has a lot of other cool features, such as
sensors that can pick up lightning as far as 30 miles away.
