Treasure Hunt

Lisa organized a wonderful treasure hunt for her nieces.

We began by looking at the album page for the wildlife camera and realizing that there had been some strange activity down at the bottom of the hill.

That reminded Lisa that she'd seen an odd envelope in the garage, so the girls zipped out there to check it out.

There was a treasure map!

Off we go to find the treasure, with a short pause for Olivia to take a picture of a green katydid.

a clue, and a jewel!

There was a duck guarding access to the steps.

but he offered to issue a VIP pass in return for 3 jewels.

The treasure map showed locations of jewels and clues.

The girls tracked down 6 different jewels and clues in all. One of them was in the firepit.

Now Nayla has 2 clues. They seem to fit together.

Chris is carrying the bag to stash the clues, jewels, and ducks as the girls find them.

Another clue was hiding in the paper/mail box.

Another clue, in the apple tree.

Better take a picture before collecting it.

The dragon was guarding the 5th clue.

Looking for the 6th clue.

study the map for more guidance.

There it is!

6 clues and 6 jewels. Time to figure out what the clues mean.

Nayla pieced together the clues and then taped them together.

Here's the message, and a mysterious set of numbers on the back.

Now that they have enough jewels, the girls could get their VIP passes to go down the steps.

The adults were stuck with each carrying a duck as camoflage and quacking to fool the duck guard.

Now where is that duck party? and their treasure?

There they are! and a treasure chest!

The mysterious numbers were the combination for the lock on the treasure chest.
